Results days are usually either highly dreaded or wildly anticipated, depending on your own expectations. This being the first actual school day since our well-deserved "marking days", everyone was of course extremely excited (or agitated, however you wish to describe it).

Strangely enough, I wasn't so concerned. Why be anxious when nothing you can do can change whatever F9 or A1 you got?

To people such as Zhuo Yang, who are disappointed about falling short of your targets by a pittance of marks, cheer up. I know you worked very hard, obviously harder than me, proof being the copious amounts of notes I've seen you with, and I feel that that matters much more than the grades. Grades, are always in dynamic equilibrium.

Overall take on today is that my results aren't that bad, although not exactly up to my desired expectations. Out of three subjects today, including my weakest science and one of my humanities, I have one precious 4.0 (overall I HOPE) and two 3.6s.

The science which has always bothered me. Marks are 58/80 for the EoY, and overall, 77%. Total, 3.6.

Not 4.0, but I had expected this since I came out of that icebox two weeks ago. In fact, seeing the number of stupid mistakes that I made, 58 is already a relief. This is a drop, from 4.0 to 3.6, but I think it's one that isn't of terrible consequence. Just means that I have to pay much more attention to Chemistry.

Not 4.0 either, BUT my overall I THINK is still 4.0. I was expecting much more of my AQ (which I got 5/10 for), but thanks to a full mark vocab section, the AQ didn't hurt me too much.

Marks for this paper are 34/45. Now assuming my CA is 83% (which I think it is), I should be able to get 4.0. This will maintain my existing 4.0.

YES! YES! YES!!!!!!!!! Finally, at long last, a 3.6 for History!!!!!!!!

Up from 3.2, which was up from 2.8 at the beginning of the year. CA is 68%, this paper was 28/40 or 73%, final percentage is 70%. Not too off my target either.

So, a simple conclusion for the day, Chemistry down a grade, History up a grade, English maintaining, so hopefully everything remains constant. Especially with HChinese up a grade too.

I shall work on this post when everything comes back tomorrow.

And now, a continuation.

Except today's marks were horrible.

There is no way I will get a 3.6.

My sciences and maths have been very disappointing. All of them are either 2 or 3 marks short of a 4.0... which is a really saddening result.












It's pretty self-explanatory.

The most horrifying was Maths II... as can be seen. And the fact that I have no 4.0s at all, even for the sciences.

I haven't the mood to comment much about anything.

However, after some introspection and a long talk with my mum, I don't feel so bad. It's never too late to start trying. I will make sure I work harder and study earlier in JC, so as not to repeat this same fiasco.

Final unmoderated GPA: 3.38

It is worth noting that for all my sciences, maths I, and SS, I have marks ranging from 76-78, so they're all still A1s. But that's beside the point.
