06 February 2009 ~ one hundred and eighty five

Thursday was less demanding because for 80% of the time we were in the MPH doing song and dance. Learnt the rest of the batch dance (W-I-L-D WILDCATS)!

There was a rather cryptic activity involving painting a tile using just our hands... and it ended up using our hands not just to paint a tile:

Today was TAKE 5, a mega carnival organized by the school/council. There was lots of games, singing, Talent Time, dancing, and other random activities such as dunking (Mrs Lim Lai Cheng!).

The best part for me was when an RJC ex-teacher, Mr Siva, came up to sing for us. His last song was I'm Yours by Jason Mraz, and it was really nice when Marcus Lee joined in to form a intertwining countermelody.

It's nice if you're able to sing, and if you're not, it's nice to listen.

Next, our OG (BW12) went over to Alexys' house mansion to prepare for Orientation Night. Her place is ABSOLUTELY HUGE. We ordered in pizza and chicken wings for lunch and picniced over at her house.

We prepared (or rather the girls did and they guys slacked =P) horny headbands, red capes, masks, flowers, and... nails. Yes, we decided to paint our nails on our right hand red and our left hand black. I think we were the only OG to do that.

O'Night started at long last. First up was storyline and a video, then was the long awaited catwalk. There were some sights to see:

... Fayang in a toga (o.o)...

... Russell in a bathrobe (O.O)...

... Zewei (!!!)...

Anyway, our two great models Marcus and Alexys got into the top 5 for the catwalk. They were really great, except when I tried to video them the group in front of me stood up and totally blocked my view.

Next was batch dance, and it was really screwed up in the sense that they edited the speed randomly and we ended up dancing off timing all the time. I mean, we practiced it for 5 days and I was thinking at least we could have gotten the chance to do it properly on O'Night. Oh well, it was quite fun anyway.

Somewhere in there was inserted the IHC results. HH was last, BB and BW tied for 3rd, MR got 2nd, and MT won.

Last was a cool flaming O'tiero sculpture, and the singing of batch song. Orientation has been great, and I think the J2s did A LOT to prepare for us. Maybe next year I'll try sign up as a background OGL (assuming that kind of job even exists).

After the teachers chased us away from school, we camped out at J8 to eat dinner, chit chat, and say farewell to our OGLs. I'm not really that emo now, because I didn't really get that close to my OG, but I guess I'll miss them after school starts; my great dance partner Shirley, our ojisan and obasans, our OGLs...

So ends O'Night O'Nine.

*added later: the nicer group photos taken with Elaine's camera. Pictures taken from her Facebook.
