Band Camp!

Or Band Picnic/Band Day Camp/Band Extended Practice or whatever you wish to call it. It started off with concert practice at 8:30 AM (to be expected) all the way through to 12:30 PM thereabouts. I finally, FINALLY managed to find my mouthpiece pouch thingy (it was in another of my bags at home), so today I thought I sounded much better than the previous playing of Overture Number One.

Overture Number One is easier than Two, and now that we're the only JC band to play it, we need to play it really well to earn the favour of the judges. Sixty-something more days left to SYF.

Lunch followed, supposed to be section lunch, but disintegrated into batch lunch. Our (male) batch followed the basses to the J8 food court.

What's a camp without games; we were divided into eight groups. Mine was Da Bao Dao Bo, Lawrence/Laurence (sorry dunno how spell), Weiqi, Joanne, David Zhao, and myself.

And what are games without at least one scavenger hunt inside? I think our group must have collected the most number of pegs - sixty three anyone? Collected sixty within the first twenty minutes, and in the last forty five collected the last three =.=.

Spent the last bit playing charades in air conditioned comfort.

War game next, THANKFULLY wasn't as violent as Strip Me If You Can, just a fight for pegs. After the four tiring rounds, Odd had 200 points and Even (I'm in even) had 225.

After that was... an auction... won't comment. Just that the band room has now been French Impressionated with seven rather abstract pictures.

Dinner up next, was hoping that our newly enlarged batch of ~25 people could eat together, but apparently the polarization requires more time to be overcome: guys went to the food court again, not sure where all the girls went. Ate an expensive but really nice Pepper Lunch.

We went over to the bubble tea shop after dinner to chit chat, was joined by Weiqi, Hillary, Zhenyi. Played Pig, and hoped we wouldn't be on STOMP.

Oh, and a poor cockroach got kicked.

So a circle completes; my blog started out with a band camp (RIMB band camp), and now it comes to one too. I've managed to sustain this, and hopefully can keep it running for a long while to come...?

Dedicated followers of my blog from Day One (as if there are any, besides me) would know that something's coming up in a few days...

Because circles,

are more than just lines

where ends meet.
