That flood was in April last year... now, one and a half years later, I'm blogging about the same thing. Except, by all reports, this was a touch more severe. The water actually entered the shops along the raised pavement, including a car showroom, a wine shop, and a 7-11.

Though I wasn't there for the actual flooding - in fact I was at Lucas' house watching The Big Bang Theory - I caught a glimpse of the news report on the TV. That aside, I saw it rain from morning all the way through till dinnertime, and mind you I was at Bishan/Thompson while Bukit Timah was flooding...

Yeah and when I got back home I was greeted by a dark lift lobby (and a small boy wielding a torchlight). Apparently because of the flood, the lifts - and lift lobby, gym, swimming pool, estate office - short circuited because of the water basically being everywhere.

The carpark was a sight to see. Apparently the management had to call in a tanker truck to suck up all the water, and of course all the cars had to park somewhere else. Highest water level was reportedly 1.5 meters (completely covering the cars and the basement lifts), but when I went there it had already subsided to about half a meter.

I'm high and dry at the moment, but the news said that we can expect this all the way till January. Makes life interesting, I guess (as well as a gigantic mess).
