12 September 2011 ~ five hundred and sixty nine

Massive, MASSIVE gap in putting out a post this time because of how hectic yet strangely fulfilling this weekend has been. This one can be slightly longer then.

For me, our course at SI is at an end. I realize that of BMT, SCS, and SI so far, the best friends I've made are here in SI, in this signal specialist course. Will definitely miss 02/11 IC2 Specs, as we split up at this crossroads. Even as we will get our cheverons in two weeks time, we get our independence in our new "jobs", but also the loneliness and isolation of being in charge. So it's always nice to have each other to count on, even apart.

So thanks to my platoon, for making my experience at SI something special.

Graduation ceremony on Friday, certs and awards given out, but most importantly POSTING. What sucked was that the postings are only almost nearly confirmed, but not 100% confirmed, so one or two of us can prepare for a surprise.

As for me? Let's just say if nothing changes, SI will be my second home.

Saturday was the band reunion cum farewell party. Thanks to everyone who came down for the little party, I had a great time and I hope you did too :).

But before the party there was a little pre-party...

... aka Forced Prep.

At about seven commenced the actual dinner itself. No organized activity; I think just being able to see each other and catch up was sufficient occupation for the entire duration of the night and more.

It's scary how you chat and realize how you never knew the lives of others progressed while you weren't there to watch.

And the highlight of the pictures shall be the group photos, courtesy Jerald.

Once again, let me reiterate that it was awesome having RJCSB 2009 over. Our band days may be far behind us, but friendship lasts beyond.

Post party sleepover pictures are not glam enough for this blog. Just know that a McDonald's breakfast after a night of fun is awesome :).

So that's Friday and Saturday done. Sunday didn't last long; it was kinda filled with a lot of this:

The motion blurring effects in Dragon Nest are very nice though:

The ungodly hours of Monday shall be included in this post because I took the nearly last train of Sunday to Changi Airport rather than spend $50 on a cab at 4 am Monday morning. Why, you might ask?

(not the $50 cab versus the MRT, that's pretty obvious)

But because...

Fare thee well, Eric. I've written enough; just know that true friendship is beyond borders or physical distance, beyond the dulling of time, beyond the winds of change. The very best to you as you study Medicine in UK (perhaps I might join you in a couple of years!), and train to be a great doctor.

I know you're not the emo guy I am, but still, I'm obliged to put out a few quotes.

Sometimes goodbye, though it hurts in your heart, is the only way for destiny. - S Club

Who can say if I've been changed for the better? But because I knew you, I have been changed for good. - Wicked

So remember, goodbye doesn't mean forever. Let me tell you, goodbye doesn't mean we'll never be together again. - Bread

So yep, that was my weekend. Thank goodness for Monday and Tuesday off.
